He said he was part of the team that was focusing on buying players at auction. During this, many options were presented to us regarding the opener. Everyone wanted Murali Vijay, but I suggested that Robin Uthappa be included in the team.
The team had to face defeat in the opening match

After which, Uthappa came to me before the game in Ranchi and told me that he should go and talk to Gautam Gambhir and ask him to give him a chance as a starter. On which I gave this suggestion to Gautam Gambhir. But it was clear from his words that he would not accept this suggestion. After which I went to Kallis and told her about this. In which he talked to Gautam Gambhir and Uthappa got a chance as a starter.
<p style="text alignment: justify;"Let us tell you that Uthappa again made the most of this opportunity and scored over 600 runs in that season. Due to his brilliant performance, KKR became the winner of the IPL by defeating Punjab in the final.
