The record-breaking team featured Regan Smith, Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh, and Tori Huske. This new mark actually beat a previous record. That old record was also held by Smith, Walsh, and Huske. Lilly King was part of that earlier team. They set their previous best time of 3 minutes, 49.63 seconds back in 2024.

Australia earned the silver medal in the same race. They finished with a time of 3 minutes, 52.67 seconds. China rounded out the podium, taking third place. Their time was 3 minutes, 54.77 seconds.

Tori Huske anchored the winning relay. She was the last swimmer to dive into the water. Huske later shared her feelings about the race. “I knew we would be close,” she said with a big smile. “This is my favorite relay, so I am very happy.”

These championships saw a total of three new world records. Besides the women’s medley relay, the American mixed 4×100 freestyle relay also set a new mark. Kate Douglass and Tori Huske were on that record-breaking mixed team too. French swimmer Léon Marchand also broke a world record in the 200-meter individual medley event. It was quite a championship for the record books.
