USA: Pentagon officer shot dead, multiple wounded

An officer from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFP) was killed and several more were injured in what became known as the “Pentagon Force Shootout.”

From a foreign news agency According to the report An agency official confirmed the incident and took to Twitter to offer condolences to the policeman’s family. “Our condolences and prayers go out to the officer’s family,” he said. More details will be released after informing your family members.

Earlier, Pentagon Police Chief Woodrow Cosby said a police officer on a subway bus platform outside the Defense Department building was attacked and opened fire, killing several people. He said he was not looking for any more suspects and that there was no danger, but that the incident was being investigated.

The Associated Press identified the suspect as 27-year-old Austin William Lange. He was a resident of Georgia. The report claims that William Lange stabbed a Pentagon police officer in the neck. He was later shot dead by other officers.

In a statement issued here, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin offered his condolences to the family of the murdered officer. He also ordered the flag to be raised at the Pentagon in honor of the officer killed in the incident.
