US Police Hunt for Gunman Who Killed 2 Minnesota Politicians

A massive manhunt is underway in the US after two politicians were shot, one fatally. Police are searching for 57-year-old Vance Luther Boler, who allegedly posed as a cop before opening fire.

The shooting happened on Saturday, June 17, at the home of Melissa Hortman, a state representative in Minnesota, and her husband. Both died. The gunman also targeted the home of John Hoffman, a state senator, and his wife, injuring them.

Police found a suspicious car linked to Boler about 50 miles from the crime scene. They also discovered a cowboy hat believed to be his, but he remains at large.

Boler’s wife, Jenny, and three relatives were detained and later released. The FBI has added Boler to its most-wanted list, offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The motive is thought to be politically motivated, with both victims belonging to the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.

Another vehicle used in the attack was seized, a modified SUV made to look like a police car with flashing lights. Inside, police found a list of over 70 Democratic politicians, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Representative Ilhan Omar, and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

The search has expanded to neighboring South Dakota. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
