US military aid to Ukraine, Biden orders issued

Washington – The United States has revived its “land lease” program to provide military assistance to Ukraine as soon as possible by providing and lending military and non-military equipment from World War II.

US President Joe Biden on Monday signed into law a bill that would speed up the process of lending military equipment to Ukraine and other Eastern European countries by the end of September 2023.

The move is the latest in a series of legislation designed to help Britain and other US allies fight Nazi Germany during World War II. The law is said to have played a key role in the Allied victory in World War II.

Joe Biden called the Russian invasion “Putin’s brutal war” and said he had signed a bill that would help the Ukrainian government and its people defend their land and their democracy against Russia. Another important resource will be available in the effort.

He emphasized the need to focus on education, and said that it was even more important now with Ukraine.
