Disney’s diversity policies are under scrutiny. The US government wants to know if the company is following orders from President Donald Trump.
The US TV watchdog, FCC, sent a letter to Disney and its news arm, ABC News. They asked about the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. The FCC is worried that Disney might not be following US rules.
The letter was sent to Disney CEO Robert Iger. It said the FCC wants to make sure the company isn’t promoting DEI policies that go against US rules. They want to know if Disney has stopped any policies that might be against the rules.
A Disney spokesperson said the company is reviewing the letter. They will meet with the FCC to answer questions.
This isn’t the first time the FCC has looked into DEI policies. They also investigated Verizon and Comcast. The US government has been trying to limit DEI policies.
Some French companies that work with the US government got a letter from the US embassy in France. They were asked to follow President Trump’s DEI orders.
