Oscar Smith was his name.
He got in trouble for killing his wife and two stepsons 35 years ago.
The killing happened on October 1, 1989.
Smith said he didn’t do it until he died.

The US state of Tennessee did the execution.
They used a big dose of a drug called pentobarbital.

The state stopped executions because of COVID-19 and problems with the execution drugs.

On the night of the killing, a 911 call recorded a child yelling, “Frank, no!”
Prosecutors said “Frank” was a nickname for Smith.
