Urvashi Rautela’s Claim of Having Temple in Her Name Exposed as False

Urvashi Rautela is known for making bold claims, and her latest statement has sparked quite a debate. The actress, known for her roles in films like “डाकू महाराज” (Daku Maharaj), claimed that she has a temple dedicated to her in Uttarakhand, near the famous Badrinath temple. During a conversation with Sidharth Kannan, Urvashi said, “If you go to Badrinath, right next to it is a ‘Urvashi temple’.” When Kannan asked if people visit the temple to seek her blessings, Urvashi laughed and said, “Now that there’s a temple, they must be doing that.” She added that students from Delhi University pray to her and even garland her photos.

A Claim Put to the Test

Curiosity got the better of us, and we dug deeper into Urvashi’s claim. It turns out there’s indeed a ‘Urvashi Devi temple’ in Badrinath, but it has nothing to do with the actress. The temple is actually dedicated to the divine apsara Urvashi Devi. According to legend, the temple was created from Lord Narayan’s left lotus in Badrinath. The story dates back to the Vedic era. The temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River, near the Urvashi mountain, Nilkanth mountain, and Narayan mountain.

A Sacred Site

The Urvashi Devi temple is a serene spot perfect for meditation and spiritual growth. Locals refer to it as ‘Urvashi Kund.’ Although it may not be as famous as Badrinath, devotees who know about it hold it in high regard. The temple is not just a religious site but also a symbol of a mythological story. So, it seems Urvashi Rautela’s claim was more of a case of mistaken identity. Now, Urvashi wants a temple built for her in South India too. Only time will tell if that happens.
