Uruguay School Receives Police Custody After Vandalism Attacks

Imagine a small school in a quiet town, where kids once played and learned without a care. But now, the Escuela Rural Nº67 in Cuchilla Peralta is under attack. The authorities are investigating a series of vandalism incidents that have left the community shaken.

The local police department is working closely with the school to ensure the students’ safety.

Protecting the Children

The director of Primary Education, Olga de las Heras, is in daily contact with the police to stay updated on the case. She knows that the school needs protection, especially during classes from 10 am to 3 pm. The police have assigned a guard to the school during these hours.

Parents were so worried that they refused to send their kids to school until it was safe. The vandals even left threatening messages, including one that mentioned a bomb. “We have to keep the kids safe during school hours,” de las Heras said.

The investigation is moving forward.

Looking for Answers

The prosecutor, Mauricio Delgado, has ordered a review of security footage from nearby cameras. He wants to see if they caught anything suspicious on tape. The family suspected of being involved has been called in for questioning this Wednesday. Experts will also analyze the handwriting on the threats to see if it matches anyone in the community.

This is a complex case, but the authorities are working hard to solve it. They want to make sure the kids can go back to school without fear.
