Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma parted ways in February 2025, bringing an end to their marriage that began in December 2020 in Gurgaon. Dhanashree, a YouTuber and dancer, has been facing a tough time after the divorce, and this was revealed by none other than Uorfi Javed. Uorfi shared that she had supported Dhanashree during this challenging phase, and as a gesture of gratitude, Dhanashree personally reached out to her to thank her for the support.

Uorfi Javed recently opened up about how she stood by Dhanashree’s side during her trying times, especially when the latter was bombarded with criticism on social media before and after her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal. Uorfi, a contestant on the popular reality show ‘Big Boss,’ took to social media to express her solidarity with Dhanashree, even writing a lengthy post in her support after witnessing the excessive trolling she faced online. Following this, Dhanashree personally got in touch with Uorfi to thank her for her unwavering support.

Women Are Often Blamed

In a recent podcast with Humans of Bombay, Uorfi talked about how women are always held responsible when sportsmen are involved in controversies. The social media sensation shared her opinion on the matter, stating that she stands by Dhanashree’s side. Uorfi even went on to write a post on social media, standing up for Dhanashree after the latter faced intense trolling. Dhanashree, touched by Uorfi’s gesture, personally reached out to her and thanked her for the support.

Dhanashree Was Going Through A Tough Time

Uorfi mentioned, “I had posted a story in her support because I felt she was being treated very unfairly. She got in touch with me and thanked me for the support. She was going through a tough time.” Uorfi’s gesture wasn’t just a random act of kindness; it was a bold statement against the societal norm of blaming women for the mistakes of men, especially in the context of sports personalities.

Uorfi Mentioned Virat-Anushka And Natasha-Hardik

In her lengthy post, Uorfi questioned the hypocrisy of society, “Every time a cricketer breaks up or gets divorced, the woman is bashed from all sides because, in our minds, our cricketer is our hero. None of us know what happens between the two, but definitely, the woman is the one to blame. Oh, and who can forget the time when Anushka was blamed for Virat’s poor performance? Do we always blame the woman for the man’s work?” Uorfi’s words not only highlighted the plight of Dhanashree but also brought to light the double standards of society when it comes to judging women, especially those married to or associated with high-profile figures like cricketers.
