River Plate took down Urawa Red Diamonds 3-1 in the Club World Cup group stage. But before the game even started, something weird happened. The teams were about to kick off when Urawa’s captain, Marius Hoibraaten, walked past the River Plate players without shaking their hands. He did greet the referees, though.
This was weird because the rest of his teammates, including the starting goalie, were all shaking hands with the opposing team. Hoibraaten just didn’t seem to care. He walked right by the River Plate players without even looking at them.

A video of the incident started making the rounds on social media. People were talking about how strange it was for the captain to ignore his opponents like that. The tweet from DAZN Portugal showed the whole thing – Hoibraaten walking past the River Plate players without a word.
