A young cricketer from Hyderabad, in the southern province of Sindh, attempted suicide after he was not selected in the local team for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) intercity championship. Pakistan national fast bowler Shoaib cut his wrist. Family members took him to the hospital on Tuesday in an emergency.
A relative told the media that after the championship tryout, Shoaib was not selected by the coach in the team, after which he locked himself in his room due to depression. The relative reported that we found him in the bathroom of his room and they cut his wrist.
He was lying unconscious in the bathroom. The relative told the media that we immediately took him to the hospital where his condition remains critical.
