United States: “the forces that led to the assault on the Capitol are still at work today”, warns Biden

His reaction to the first conclusions of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the assault on the capitol was expected. “The forces that led to the assault on the Capitol (January 6, 2021) are still at work today”, US President Joe Biden said on Friday, June 10. The commission blamed his predecessor, Donald Trump, for his role in that day that shook America.“It is important that Americans understand what really happened”said the American president, traveling to Los Angeles.

For almost a year, this commission – seven Democrats and two Republicans – has heard more than 1,000 witnesses, including two children of the former president, and gone through 140,000 documents to shed light on the specific actions and actions of Donald Trump before , during and after this event that shook American democracy.

The Commission described the assault on the Capitol as the“result of a coup attempt” against the election of Joe Biden. His opponent, Donald Trump, once again praised the day on Thursday, assuring that the assault on the Capitol was the “greatest movement in history to make America great again”.
