In Florida, in the southeastern United States, Kristen McMullen, 30, died a few days after giving birth to her son. He had Covid-19.
During her first visit to the hospital, the American learned of her contamination with Covid-19. They also diagnosed him with pneumonia. Sent home, she was hospitalized again four days later.
Kristen McMullen was in a condition that allowed her to deliver her daughter Summer by cesarean section before being transferred to intensive care. A week later, the 30-something-year-old woman was put on life support, before dying the same day, Friday, August 6.
In an interview with the American media NBC NewsKristen’s aunt, Melissa Syberson, declined to say whether her niece was vaccinated or not. The latter preferred to attract all pregnant women. “We personally believe that pregnant women, vaccinated or not, whether they wear the mask or not, are at enormous risk and that it can be fatal to themselves or their babies,” he said.
An opinion shared by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which urges pregnant women to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
