Leslie Lawrenson, a 58-year-old lawyer and Covid-19 vaccine activist, died days after contracting the virus.
On Facebook, Leslie Lawrenson posted videos of himself in which he wanted to prove that the illness was just the flu. Every day, he detailed his symptoms and admitted that “it was hard” for a cold.
His statements went even further when he declared “to be happy to have Covid-19”. In fact, the latter preferred “to have antibodies and develop natural immunity” instead of being vaccinated.
As the situation deteriorated and her nights became increasingly painful, Leslie Lawrenson finally succumbed to Covid-19 on July 2, at her home in southern England. His 11-year-old son found him unconscious in his bed.
Contacted by the BBC, his wife said that her husband had made a “terrible mistake” and had paid “the maximum price”. The latter also contracted Covid-19. Suffering from diabetes, she had to be hospitalized.
She, who considered her husband to be a “very polite” person, tended to believe it. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Leslie Lawrenson had decided not to get vaccinated because of “a lot of things that are read on social networks.”
Full of regret, his wife called him “incredibly stupid” and assured that she and their 11-year-old son would be vaccinated as soon as possible.
