United Kingdom: Downing Street must “take responsibility” for “Partygate”, concludes the administrative inquiry

Several festive gatherings in Downing Street during the confinements “shouldn’t have been allowed to happen” and “senior leaders” services of Prime Minister Boris Johnson must “take responsibility”concludes the administrative investigation into the “Partygate” scandal, Wednesday, May 25.

In parallel, a police investigation into these gatherings, which was completed last week, led to 126 fines issued for eight events, including one aimed directly at Boris Johnson for a surprise birthday drink in June 2020.

Boris Johnson renews his apology

The British Prime Minister answered, Wednesday noon, questions from parliamentarians on this affair. The Conservative leader said assume “full responsibility” for these breaches of confinement committed in circles of power. “I take full responsibility for everything that happened under my direction”he said, renewing his apologies for the “partygate”.
