LONDON: Britain has become the world’s capital of bank fraud, with ارب 1 billion stolen in the first six months of this year.
According to international media, citizens of India and West Africa were involved in fraud in the UK from abroad.
According to British records, 754 million pounds were stolen in the first six months of this year, which is 30% more than last year and 60% more than in 2017.
British authorities have also approached Facebook, Google, Amazon and eBay to tackle the crime.
Experts say the highest number of fraud cases has occurred during the lockdown period, mainly due to electronic banking.
During the lockdown, users uploaded a large number of their personal data to the Internet, allowing criminals to gain access to their accounts and steal money.
The British government’s National Economic Crime Center has described it as a threat to Britain’s defense.
