Union Berlin Nears St. Juste Signing, Outbidding Osasuna for Sporting Defender

Jeremiah St. Juste was all but set for a new start in Spain. His bags seemed packed for Osasuna, a fresh chapter waiting. But in a sudden twist, Union Berlin swooped in. They pulled out all the stops, tempting the defender away. Now, it looks like the German club will win this transfer race. They’ve even reached an agreement with Sporting CP.

St. Juste prepares to leave Alvalade

For some time, St. Juste found himself without a regular spot at Sporting. The team now plays with just two central defenders. His contract was also heading into its final year. So, Sporting gave him the green light to find a new home. Osasuna stepped up first, offering a project that St. Juste wasn’t entirely sold on. Still, the Dutch player flew to Pamplona. He wanted to see what the Spanish club had to offer. He eventually told his agents to finalize the deal. Osasuna even struck a deal with Sporting’s board. Sporting stood to gain 4 million euros, depending on certain targets. But just as the ink was about to dry, a new offer landed. It came from the Bundesliga, a league St. Juste knew well. He had played there before with Wolfsburg.

Talks with the German club moved quickly. Their terms simply made more sense. St. Juste chose Berlin over Spain. He even trained with Sporting at their academy this past Tuesday. Now, he’s just waiting for Sporting’s official blessing to travel. Soon, he’ll kick off the next big chapter of his football life.
