Launch of Unichain Network Scheduled for Early 2025
The Unichain team has announced that the network will be available to users and developers starting January 6, 2025. On the same day, a failure testing period will be launched to detect irregularities and provide information about the network’s operation.
Key Features of Unichain
- Unichain will be available on mainnet in early 2025
- The network has been operating on Sepolia since October this year
- Users can access Unichain from January 6, 2025
- A failure testing period will be launched on January 6, 2025
Unichain’s Roadmap to Mainnet
The Unichain team has presented a roadmap for the launch of the new network, prioritizing user security, stability, and decentralization. The implementation is taking place in planned phases, with the mainnet launch scheduled for January 6, 2025.
Unichain has been operating on the Ethereum testnet, Sepolia, since October, processing over 50 million transactions and at least four million contracts to test its capabilities.
Testing Period for Failures
From January 6, 2025, a testing period for failures will be enabled, allowing anyone to verify network activity. This will be made possible after a planned maintenance is carried out to enable these functions.
Rollup Boost Activation
Immediately after launch, Rollup Boost will be activated, leveraging Flashbots’ TEE-based block generator to enable rollback protection and verifiable priority ordering for transactions.
Uniswap Expands its Services
The new announcement related to Unichain comes amid Uniswap’s efforts to expand its services. Recently, the platform presented a permissionless blockchain bridge launched in partnership with Cross Protocol, allowing cryptocurrencies to be moved between at least nine networks.
Additionally, Uniswap now allows users of its web platform and wallet to buy cryptocurrencies using their Venmo balances, within the framework of its alliance with MoonPay.
