Under 23 Canoeing World Cup: Seven paddlers in search of medals

he sselected Argentinean under 23 and junior speed canoe, with coaches Pablo Hoffman and Carlos Bustos, will compete from this Wednesday with seven paddlersamong which the Buenos Aires Valentin Rossi stands out, the World Championship in the category in Szeged, Hungary.

The team is integrated by Valentín Rossi, 20 years old and a native of San Pedro, province of Buenos Aires, who won the bronze medal at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games 2018 and who won three gold medals at the Pan American Youth Games Cali, Colombia, 2021 and the 20-year-old Bautista Itria from Entre Ríos, 2021 U23 South American champion and winner of the gold medal at the Cali 2021 Pan American Youth Games.

There are also the Buenos Aires Manuel Orero, 19, 7th in the 2021 junior world championship and 2021 junior South American champion; Piero Pizarro, 19, from Rio Negro, 2021 junior South American champion; the missionary Valentina Bogado, 18, South American champion 2021. And Candela Velázquez, from Chubut, 17, South American champion 2021 and Aramis Sánchez Ayala Viedma, from Rio Negro, South American champion 2021.

The sub 23 category paddlers, who did a three-week preparation in Portugal, on the Montemor or Velho track on several occasions working alongside the local team, are Valentín Rossi (K1 500); Manuel Orero and Piero Pizarro (K2 500); Orero, Rossi, Pizarro and Bautista Itria (K4 500); Yttria (K1 5000). Whereas, in the junior category Candela Velázquez (K1 500); Valentina Bogado and Velázquez (K2 500); Velázquez (K1 5000) and Sánchez Ayala in canoe in 500, 1000 and 5000 meters.
