Undefeated Irish UFC Fighter Ian Garry Aims to Follow in Conor McGregor’s Footsteps

Ian Garry, Undefeated Welterweight Fighter, Becomes Subject of Criticism After Win Against Michael Page

Undefeated welterweight fighter Ian Garry (15-0) is making waves in the MMA world with his recent victory over Bellator legend Michael "Venom" Page (22-3) at UFC 303. However, his victory has not gone without criticism within the industry.

Garry’s strategy of relying heavily on grappling and takedowns against MVP has been criticized for not showcasing his usual attacking style. In the second round, Michael Page caught Garry with solid punches, but he was able to rebound in the third round by taking the fight to the ground and securing the win.

Despite criticism from fans and experts, Garry is unphased. In response to his detractors, he stated, "I don’t care what people say. They raised my hand, 15-0, undefeated. Eight consecutive victories. People can say what they want. At the end of the day, I’m living my life, I get my hand raised and I get paid."

The Irish Fighter Sets Sights on Shavkat Rakhmonov

Ian Garry’s confidence is evident after his recent win. He is now set on challenging undefeated welterweight contender Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) for the latter’s undefeated record. According to Garry, he has trained with Rakhmonov and has a lot of respect for him, but believes he has the skill to be the first to take away Rakhmonov’s zero.

"Whoever wins this fight between Rakhmonov and I, that winner will fight for the welterweight title against the current champion, Leon Edwards, or Muhammad, who wants to dethrone him at the upcoming UFC 304 in Manchester," Garry declared.

Garry’s ambition mirrors that of his idol, Conor McGregor, a cocky and confident fighter known for his entertaining performances and controversial statements.

The win over Rakhmonov would likely put Garry in the spotlight for a potential welterweight title fight, adding another chapter to his already-eventful MMA career.
