Umran became the youngest bowler to take 20 wickets, leaving Bumrah-Ojha and RP Singh behind.

At IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young fast bowler Umran Malik caught everyone’s attention with his pace. Umran achieved a new milestone in the match against the Mumbai Indians on May 17, becoming the youngest Indian bowler to take 20 or more wickets in an IPL season, breaking Jasprit Bumrah’s record from 2017.

Umran took three for 23 from three overs as Hyderabad defended a 193 goal against Mumbai Indians in their league match at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Recently, the fast pitcher, who threw the fastest delivery of the season at 157 kmph, sent IM starter Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams and the talented Tilak Verma to the pavilion.

Umran broke into the top 5 on the IPL 2022 wicket-taker list when he extended his wicket tally to 21 during a match-winning spell for Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians. Umran is ranked 4th on the list of top wicket takers in IPL 2022, 3 places behind top-ranked Yuzvendra Chahal.

Jasprit Bumrah – 23 years and 165 days at IPL 2017

RP Singh – 23 years and 166 days at IPL 2009

Pragyan Ojha – 23 years 225 days at IPL 2010.
