Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman denies hijacking

Kiev: Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has denied that a passenger plane was hijacked in Afghanistan.

Russian news agencies According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ola Nikolinko denied the news of the hijacking, saying that no Ukrainian plane was hijacked at Kabul airport.

Ola Nikolaenko said Deputy Foreign Minister Yenin’s remarks were about how difficult it was to get diplomats and foreigners out of Afghanistan.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said that Ukraine had evacuated 256 people from Afghanistan by three planes, while on Sunday morning a military plane MD-76 had evacuated 83 people from Afghanistan, including 31 Ukrainians.

Haromedask radio reported that Ukraine’s third plane landed late Monday night at Kiev’s Brispel airport with 98 people on board, including 41 Ukrainians.

It should be noted that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine had confirmed the hijacking of the plane carrying Ukrainians and foreigners from Kabul by armed men and said that the armed men had turned the plane towards Iran.

On the other hand, Iranian officials had denied the allegation of Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yenin, saying that the Ukrainian plane landed at Mashhad airport only for refueling and immediately left for Kiev after refueling.
