Ukraine war devastating for Putin CIA chief

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Barnes believes the war in Ukraine led by Russian President Vladimir Putin is having a ‘devastating’ effect. He commented that the discontent in Russia about this war has created a new opportunity for the CIA to gather intelligence.

The CIA chief said these things while speaking at the UK’s Ditchley Foundation on Saturday. News from The Guardian

William Burns spoke about the Ukraine war and Putin after Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Russia’s mercenary forces, declared a rebellion against the Russian military leadership a week ago.

He also commented that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has emerged as ‘the most urgent and acute geopolitical challenge to the international order today’.

All eyes were on Prigogine’s armed rebellion against Moscow, Barnes said. His actions are a stark reminder of the devastating impact on Putin’s wars and his own governance. Not only in Prigogine’s actions but also in his words, there are accusations against the justification of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – his words will be circulating for some time.’

Meanwhile, a posted video provides instructions on how to communicate with the CIA on the dark web, avoiding Moscow’s surveillance. The video got 2.5 million views in its first week.
