Ukrainian Air Force Targets Russian Missile Production Facility
The Ukrainian Air Force has reportedly launched an attack on a plant in Kamensk-Shakhtynsky, Rostov region of Russia, which is involved in the production of solid fuel for ballistic missiles. According to Ukraine’s Strategic Communications Center (Stratcom), these missiles have been used to target civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including hospitals, residential buildings, and power plants.
A Comprehensive Campaign to Weaken Russian Capabilities
Stratcom stated that this attack is part of a broader campaign aimed at weakening the capabilities of the Russian armed forces to carry out terrorist attacks against Ukrainian civilians. However, the Kyiv Independent was unable to verify these claims.
Recent Attacks in the Rostov Region
This attack is one of several recent incidents in the Rostov region. On December 25, Ukrainian drones reportedly attacked an ammunition depot at the Kadamovsky military training ground, according to a source from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). On December 24, drones targeted the military air base in Millerovo, as confirmed by the acting local governor, Yury Slyusar. Previously, on December 19, the Ukrainian Navy and the SBU carried out a combined attack on the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov Oblast.
Russian Defense Ministry’s Statement
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used six US-supplied ATACMS missiles and four Storm Shadow missiles of British production to attack the Kamensk-Shakhtinsky plant in the Rostov region.
Disrupting Russia’s Military Supply Chain
These operations are part of Ukraine’s broader efforts to disrupt Russia’s military supply chain and hinder its ability to carry out attacks against Ukrainian cities.
