British police have arrested 14 children in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy found in a burned-out building.
The arrests were made in northeast England after a fire broke out in an industrial area.
The victim, Layton Carr, was reported missing on Friday.
That evening, firefighters responded to the blaze at Fairfield industrial estate in Gateshead, near Newcastle.
Inside, they found Carr’s body.
Arrests and Investigation
The 14 suspects, aged 11 to 14, were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
The group includes 11 boys and three girls.
Northumbria Police made the arrests as part of an ongoing investigation.
They are urging the community not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding the fire.
The Fairfield Industrial Estate
The industrial area has been abandoned for years.
Locals report that teenagers often sneak in, and fires have been a recurring issue.
The recent blaze was described as one of the largest they’ve seen.
The estate’s condition and history are now under scrutiny as authorities investigate the incident.
