UK army member charged with terrorism-related activities

A member of the British army was prosecuted on Friday January 27 for activities related to terrorism, announced the police in a press release (link in English). Daniel Abed Khalif, 21, is accused of attempting “to obtain information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism” in August 2021, specifies the press release from the Metropolitan Police.

He is also being prosecuted for having “placed an object with the intention of causing another person to believe that said object was likely to explode”, on January 2. The two offenses for which he is being prosecuted were committed in Beaconside, Stafford, in central England. This “serving member of the British Army” was taken into custody and is due to appear in court in Westiminster on Saturday.
