Eduarda Neves Santana, known as Cowboyzinha, is a fighter who rose to fame in the Tatá Fight Team de MMA. Unfortunately, she’s been dealing with a lot of personal struggles, including a drug addiction that’s led her to prostite herself on the streets. In a recent video published by the Brazilian press, Cowboyzinha opens up about her addiction, revealing that she’s resorted to prostitution to survive and buy drugs.
As she explains, it all started with a joint, and before she knew it, she was prostiting herself for drugs. Now, she says, she’s even prostiting herself for a cigarette. This tragic fall from grace began when Cowboyzinha was suspended by the UFC for doping in 2020. The fighter had tested positive for ligandrol, a banned substance, and despite her team’s claims that she had used contaminated supplements, she was unable to prove her innocence.
The suspension led to a downward spiral of depression, and Cowboyzinha found herself turning to drugs to cope. She acknowledges that she started consuming drugs like marijuana, cocaine, and crack when she went out with friends. Her family, she says, doesn’t understand that addiction is a disease, and that it’s not just a matter of being “bad.”
In a heartbreaking video, Cowboyzinha talks about how she’s undergone several detoxification treatments, but has struggled to stay clean. She says that sometimes she can go days without smoking, and she starts to feel excited about the possibility of fighting again. But then, something sets her back, and she finds herself consuming drugs once more.
Despite her struggles, Cowboyzinha is holding onto hope. She says that one day, her story will have a happy ending, and she’s waiting for her return to the world of MMA. In a message of optimism, she says, “God took everything away from me, like Job, but one day he will return everything to me. He is testing me, just as he tried Jesus in the desert, just as he tried Daniel.”
Cowboyzinha’s story is a tragic reminder of the dangers of addiction and the importance of seeking help. As she navigates this difficult time in her life, she’s sending a message of hope to her fans, and to herself, that she will overcome her struggles and rise again.
