Crypto fans can now order food from Uber eats with their Shiba Inu and Dogecoin tokens. The transactions are settled via BitPay.
Other cryptocurrencies supported by BitPay include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, XRP, Dai, Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and a number of stablecoins.
Pay with cryptocurrencies
In a blog post, BitPay writes that this payment method is still exclusive for BitPay users. Uber Eats does not yet accept direct cryptocurrency payments. However, there are a number of other delivery companies that already accept cryptocurrencies. Think, for example, of home delivery in the Netherlands and Americans can pay with crypto at GrubHub and DoorDash.
More and more companies are accepting cryptocurrencies
The acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a payment method is currently growing rapidly. Watchmakers such as Tag Heuer, Hublot and Breitling have also been accepting cryptocurrencies through payment processor BitPay for several weeks.
Panini America, a company specializing in sports collectibles, has announced the upcoming launch of its crypto wallet that will support cryptocurrencies such as Shiba Inu, Bitcoin and others in conjunction with BitPay.
Dogecoin And Shiba Inu See Increased Network Interaction
Another positive sign is an increase in network interaction. According to Santiment, address activity for Dogecoin and Shiba Inu has risen to a seven-week high. The analytics company wrote the following in a tweet on June 29:
Dogecoin and Shiba Inu each show a remarkable increase in network activity. Especially in the last 10 days, DOGE (+32%) and SHIB (+35%) have seen many recurring network interactions.
