UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was laid to rest

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been laid to rest.

According to Arab media, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the ruler of Abu Dhabi, and members of the Al Nahyan family performed the last rites of Sheikh Khalifa at Al Batin Cemetery in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Earlier, Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, other members of the family and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces attended the funeral prayers of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Mosque. On the other hand, the funeral prayers of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan were offered in absentia in Masjid Al Haram and Masjid Nabavi.

After Isha prayers, millions of citizens attended the funeral prayers in absentia. According to Arab media, King Salman bin Abdulaziz had instructed Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to offer funeral prayers in absentia.

It should be noted that the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had passed away today.

The UAE’s official news agency confirmed the death of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and said that 40 days of mourning had been declared for the president.

It is worth mentioning here that Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been the ruler of UAE since November 3, 2004 and he took over the leadership of UAE after the death of his father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also visit the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, May 14. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will leave for Dubai today to offer his condolences on the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Pakistan has also declared three days of national mourning on the death of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
