Abu Dhabi: The three emirates of the United Arab Emirates have announced a 50% reduction in traffic fines on the occasion of the upcoming National Day.
The announcement was made by authorities in Umm al-Quwain, saying that drivers could also benefit from a 50 per cent discount scheme on traffic fines as part of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The announcement comes as authorities in Ajman and Sharjah announced similar schemes earlier this week.
Drivers can get a discount in the UAE from December 1, 2021 to January 6, 2022. This discount applies to fines imposed until October 31, 2021.

Residents of Ajman can get 50% discount on traffic fines from November 21 to December 31. Under this 40-day offer, motorcyclists can also cancel their black points and redeem their confiscated vehicles.
Similarly, drivers in Sharjah will get 50% discount on traffic fines, they can also cancel their vehicle confiscation orders and traffic points.
It should be noted that the UAE will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its union on December 2, and events and programs have been announced across the country on the occasion of this milestone.
