Boxer Tyson Fury is only interested in facing Oleksandr Usyk to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion if he takes 70% of the profits from the fight.
It seems that time will run out to reach an agreement between the two holders of the world titles. Alex Krassyuk, Usyk’s promoter, said the most recent offer — 60-40 to the winner — was turned down by Fury’s camp.
On Instagram Fury, champion of the World Boxing Council, made his demands clear.
“I see all these fight talks, they want 50%, Tyson is being greedy,” he said in a video. “Where I am: Usyk, you and your team are worth 30%.”
“Take it or leave it.”
Usyk, the WBO, WBA and IBF champion, could face Britain’s Daniel Dubis, according to Krassyuk. Dubois holds the World Boxing Association regular title and is Usyk’s mandatory challenger.
“If you don’t want it, go and fight Nate Daniel Dubois in the Copper Box (in London) and get a few million dollars,” Fury said. “If you want to make real money, come and fight the Gyspy King.”
Fury added in his video on his Instagram stories, that he will reduce 1% of the 30% he offers Usyk for each day the Ukrainian does not commit to fight.
A possible date for the fight is April 29 and it would possibly take place in London.
The last boxer to hold all the world heavyweight titles at the same time was Lennox Lewis in 1999-2000.
