On the war front, the Ukrainian army continues its offensive around Bakhmut (east) and in two other sectors located further south, towards the occupied cities of Berdiansk and Melitópol.

In the south, the Kiev government claims that Ukrainian troops have recaptured a total of 169 square kilometers, since the start of the counteroffensive some forty days ago.

In addition, several Russian soldiers lost their lives in a Ukrainian attack on the Duna hotel in Berdiansk (southeast), in which, according to various Telegram channels, the Russian general Oleg Tsokov would have died.

In Mariupol, another Ukrainian attack reportedly hit a Chechen military barracks fighting with the Russian army near this occupied city in southeastern Ukraine.
