Two Portuguese Riders Win Barcelona 24 Hours Motorcycle Endurance Titles

The Montmeló circuit in Catalonia recently hosted one of the toughest tests in motorcycle racing: the 24 Hours of Barcelona. This endurance event pushes riders and their machines to their absolute limits. Among the many teams and racers, two Portuguese riders truly shined. They both claimed the top spot on the podium in separate categories.

These champions are Pedro Nuno and André Pires. Their victories with their respective teams were major highlights of the grueling race. Pedro Nuno helped his team win the EWC class, while André Pires dominated the SST 600 category.

André Pires’s Stunning Debut

André Pires made a remarkable entry into endurance racing. He competed with the Basomba Racing team. Pires showed incredible skill and speed. He even managed the fastest lap among all riders in his category. The rider from Vila Pouca de Aguiar finished the race far ahead of his rivals. The second-place team was a massive 42 laps behind him. It was a truly dominant performance for his first long-distance race.

Pedro Nuno’s Overall Mastery

Pedro Nuno contributed to a major win in the premier EWC class. He rides for the Swiss team, Team Bolliger Switzerland, on bike number 8. His team completed a staggering 760 laps around the circuit. They secured their victory with a comfortable lead. They were 16 laps ahead of the second-place team. Both riders proved their mettle and brought home impressive wins for Portugal on the international stage.
