Two people were killed and two others were injured. shot in the early hours of this Monday by unknown persons in Barceloneta, a municipality in the north of Puerto Rico, local authorities reported.
As reported, the Police were alerted at 12:30 today through the 9-1-1 Emergency System, about some detonations on Highway 140, intersection with Highway 2 at the Dávila intersection.
When the agents attached to the Arecibo Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau arrived, they found two people murdered and two others bullet woundsin circumstances that are under investigation.
Agent Rita Rosado Vélez, from the CIC Homicide Division, took charge of the investigation together with prosecutor Ariel Chico Juarbe.
The names of the victims and the injured have not yet been revealed.
This double murder is added to another reported in the early hours of this Monday in Puerto Rico.
The other homicide occurred in Cayeymunicipality in the central zone of the island.
There, a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted the authorities about an accident and gunshots, in events that occurred at kilometer 57 of the PR-01 highway in Cayey.
According to preliminary information, when the police arrived at the scene, they located the body of a man who had multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
The identity of the deceased is still unknown.. Authorities are investigating this incident.
