Twitter Tries New Features Communities and Great Photos on Timeline

The social network Twitter has just launched a worldwide test of the new Communities tool. At the same time, you are also testing another new feature that allows you to expand photos and videos on the timeline.

On its blog, the company says that “to bring people even closer together,” it is testing the new Communities feature that allows users with the same interests to connect and communicate with each other.

Although the number of users that can form a Community is unknown, the truth is that anyone can be part of a group, as long as they are invited by a moderator or member of the community.

Also on its blog, the company explains that the Communities are public so that any user has the opportunity to read, share or report Tweets.

At the same time, Twitter is experiencing changes in the presentation of visual media on the timeline. The new feature allows you to expand photos and videos to fill the entire phone screen. Note that the functionality is only being tested on iOS for now.

As for the Communities tool, in this first phase, groups can only be managed or moderated by accounts that use English as a language. However, the option “translate Tweet” is available so that all users can follow the conversation.

In order for all users to feel safe in the Communities, Twitter guaranteed that it would adapt the current inspection actions, in order to detect and identify users and / or groups that could be problematic or controversial.
