Since last night, many Twitter users have found themselves in front of a feed unable to load. The problem seems to have started around 8 p.m. and mainly affects the north-west of France. Strangely, some manage to access the application with mobile data, after turning off Wi-Fi.
Even the largest sites and applications are not immune to failure. Earlier this month, it was Instagram that was inaccessible to a large number of users. Today is his rival’s turn Twitter refuse to load. Unlike other failures of this style, it is impossible to consult a hashtag on the social network to verify that you are not the only one experiencing the problem. On the other hand, a simple visit to Down Detector confirms thatthis is not an isolated bug.
Indeed, the number of reports has skyrocketed around 8 p.m. last night. The latter continue to pour in again this morning. They are 49% could not make it to the site, 30% to report connection problems, and only 21% to encounter the same problem on the application. This difference between the site and the application is also confirmed in the comments. Several users explain that they are able to access the content using their device’s mobile data.

The Twitter outage, a Wi-Fi problem?
Some users absolutely cannot load the site, no matter the conditions. “How is it that neither in 4G nor in WiFi, I can no longer access Twitter (application and website)? I can’t send or read anything ”, asks one of them. “I can’t access Twitter from the app even through my browser, I don’t know what’s going on”, deplores another.
But the experience is not the same for everyone. Some have found as a temporary solution the fact of turn off their Wi-Fi. “I had been deprived of Twitter since last night. I have just been told that it does not work on Wi-Fi ”, explains a user. “I had one in two tweet that went through and then this morning, nothing, neither on the phone nor on the computer. I arrive at work and it works ”, emphasizes another.
Difficult to determine the cause of the failure. It may be a server problem, as the generation of the phenomenon in northwestern France seems to attest. Perhaps it is also abouta problem affecting only a few operators, which would explain why not everyone is affected. Finally, the application itself may be the victim of a bug. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.
