Twitter allows businesses to fill out their profile with address, hours and contact information

Twitter wants to continue getting closer to companies and that is why it is now adding new features for professional accounts. Local stores can now display details on their profiles, such as their business or store location, contact information, and hours of operation.

The new features will be available to Twitter users at US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Location Spotlight

  • Professional categoryallows professionals to show what type of professional they identify directly on their profile.

  • Profile Spotlightsa dedicated space on a professional’s profile to showcase what’s most important to them (more on Profile Spotlights below).

  • Twitter Shoppinga suite of products available for professionals who want to sell their products directly on Twitter.

  • Twitter ads and quick promotion

Location Spotlight allows you to display your business location, business hours, and other contact methods. Location Spotlight features include:

  • Location of the company : Listed and displayed on a small map in the featured profile. People can tap the map or location list to open Google Maps, or their default maps app, for easy navigation to the company space.
  • Business hours : This field is optional, but can be customized to show the days and times that businesses want people to visit their location.
  • Contact Information Methods – When the contact button in Spotlight is enabled, you can initiate one or more of the following directly to the company:
    • Phone call
    • Text message
    • Twitter direct message
    • Email

Shop Spotlight in your account (currently available for some qualifying accounts) is a dedicated space at the top of a profile where businesses can showcase their products. This crosshair is intended to enable chance shopping moments directly on Twitter. Shop Spotlight features include:

  • A dedicated space to display products on top of a professional account where companies can showcase their products. When this spotlight is enabled, potential customers can scroll through the product carousel and tap on a single product to learn more and purchase, seamlessly in an in-app browser, without ever leaving Twitter.
