Turkish authorities have detained three individuals, including the owner and manager of a perfume warehouse, as part of an investigation into a devastating fire that killed six workers and injured one in the country’s northwest.
The blaze erupted early Saturday morning at approximately 09:00 local time at a two-story storage facility in the Dilovası district. Reports indicated multiple explosions preceded the rapid spread of flames through the building, which housed perfume products.
Firefighters and rescue teams responded quickly, bringing the inferno under control within an single hour. The incident claimed the lives of six individuals, while one person sustained injuries.
The warehouse is located in an industrial zone, approximately 43 miles (70 kilometers) from Istanbul.
President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and pledged a thorough inquiry into the cause of the fire. The Turkish government promptly launched an investigation to determine accountability for the deadly incident.
