Tsar of Russia mocked at Barça

The Russian Premier continues its course despite the fact that the clubs and teams continue to be outside the UEFA and FIFA competitions. Zenit Saint Petersburg won its fifth consecutive league with the Brazilian Malcom as absolute leader of the team. Zenit’s season has been brutally good and Malcom’s has been even better. At 26, Malcom has played the best football of his life these months.

The ex-soccer player of Barça is an outstanding leader in the goalscoring facet with 22 goals and the achievement may be even greater since they have four Russian Premier games left to play. Their numbers are so good that they haven’t been seen in Russia for years. The record is held by Doumbia in the 2011-2012 season, when he managed to reach 28 goals with CSKA Moscow.

Malcom is an idol in Russia where he has been since leaving Barça in 2019. In the culé club he did not fall on his feet and was for a long time the one indicated for the team’s ills. Ernesto Valverde had not asked for it and hardly counted on him. The fans of the Camp Nou did not commune with the Brazilian winger either. He seemed eager and interested but he did not have the famous dna barca. After 24 games and four goals, he went to Zenit for almost the same €40M that Barça paid.

And it was landing in Russia and relaunching his career. He has been gradually gaining weight in the league until now he himself is the best player in the entire competition without a doubt. The gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics achieved by Brazil against Spain thanks to his goal raised his self-esteem after his bad year at Barcelona. A release that has allowed to see the best Malcolm. That is why Luis Campos thought of him to reinforce PSG in winter but there was no agreement. Malcom is a real Tsar in the Russian Premier and that comes at a high price.
