Trump Orders Bombings Against Islamic State in Northern Somalia Mountains

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, ordered a bombing attack on the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) in the Mountains of Golis, located in northern Somalia. The attack resulted in the death of several IS members, with no reported damage to civilians.

Trump announced on his social media platforms that he had ordered precision bombings against a high-ranking IS official responsible for planning attacks and recruiting other terrorists in Somalia. According to Trump, US forces found the targets hidden in caves.

“The bombings destroyed the caves where they were living and killed many terrorists without harming civilians in any way,” Trump added. The Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, confirmed that he had authorized the US Command in Africa to carry out coordinated bombings with the Federal Government of Somalia, as ordered by Trump. The operation resulted in the death of several IS members, with no civilian casualties reported.

Hegseth stated that the action “further degrades the ability of the group to carry out terrorist attacks” and “sends a clear message” that the US can combat threats even while focused on border protection and other issues under Trump’s leadership. Trump claimed victory in his message on social media, saying that the US Army had been searching for the high-ranking IS official for years but former Democratic President Joe Biden did not act quickly enough to finish the job.

“I did it! The message to IS and others who would attack Americans is that we will find them and we will kill them!” Trump added.
