Trump Hosts 250th US Military Anniversary Parade Amid Nationwide Protests

Protesters took to the streets across the US, from New York to Los Angeles, under the slogan “No King” to oppose President Donald Trump’s policies.

The protests coincided with a massive military parade in Washington DC, marking the 250th anniversary of the US military. Over 7,000 troops participated in the parade, showcasing various military equipment and uniforms from past wars, including the Vietnam War and the war on terrorism. The event also featured aerial performances.

However, the parade was overshadowed by the protests, which were the largest against Trump since he took office. The protesters viewed Trump’s policies as authoritarian and voiced their opposition to his rule.

Meanwhile, a shooting incident in Minnesota forced the cancellation of a protest. A gunman attacked the home of Democratic Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, killing them both. The same gunman also shot Senator John Hoffmann and his wife, who survived the attack but required surgery.

In Texas, authorities evacuated the state capitol building due to a credible threat against lawmakers who planned to participate in the “No King” protests.

According to CNN, these events marked a significant escalation in the tensions between Trump’s administration and his opponents. The military parade and the protests highlighted the deep divisions in the country.
