Trump family continues Web3 journey: Melania Trump launches NFT collection

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has put his best foot forward this year to express his love for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). However, his wife, Melania Trump, was the first to enter the NFT world: she launched her own NFT platform at the end of 2021. After two successful launches from Donald Trump earlier this year, Melania is now picking up the thread again.

Independence day Solana NFTs

On Tuesday, July 4, the US celebrates the adoption of the United States Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 with Independence Day. In celebration of this memorable holiday, Melania announces an NFT collection called ‘The 1776 Collection’ On. The collection, comprising a total of 3,500 items, offers a glimpse into the nation’s history, culture and patriotism.

The NFTs will be released on the Solana blockchain and cost $50 each. It is not a requirement to own your own wallet to obtain a collectible item. Moreover, you do not need any crypto as you can purchase the NFTs with a credit card.

In total there are 7 different designs, each consisting of 500 different NFTs. However, you can receive the so-called ‘Home of the Brave’ as a bonus when you have purchased all 6 available designs.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Fostering the Future, an initiative to support educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community.

Trump and Web3

Melania already has several collections to her name, but Donald Trump managed to turn the spotlight on herself earlier this year with the launch of his Trump Digital Trading Cards.

In January, he released the collection, consisting of 45,000 collectible items, on the Ethereum (ETH) scaling network Polygon (MATIC). Each collectible ticket gave the opportunity to win exclusive prizes linked to the former president. The collection sold out within a day at a price of $99 each.
