Trump Executive Orders Linked to AI Generated Content Suddenly Revealed

Concerns over Artificial Intelligence Involvement

The rapid pace at which the new US president has been approving executive orders has sparked both intrigue and concern among experts. Some have raised suspicions about the potential involvement of artificial intelligence in drafting these orders, citing typographical errors, simplistic language, and inconsistencies in the texts.

Similarities with AI-Generated Content

Appeals lawyer Raffi Melkonian has questioned the authorship of the texts, pointing out striking similarities with content generated by artificial intelligence programs like Chat GPT. He specifically highlighted an order that proposes renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, suggesting that it appears to have been written by AI. The text’s description of the Gulf of Mexico seems overly simplistic, as if it were written for a general audience with limited knowledge of the subject.

The order describes the Gulf as “home to vibrant American fisheries filled with snappers, shrimp, groupers, stone crabs and other species,” and notes its importance to American tourism and the maritime industry. However, the language used is straightforward and lacks the nuance and complexity typically found in official government documents.

Criticism of Drafting Quality

Legal expert Mark Joseph Stern has also criticized the drafting of the executive orders, describing them as “poor and sloppy work” that appears to have been assisted by AI. He notes that the texts are riddled with typographical and formatting errors, suggesting extensive use of copy and paste. The rhetoric used in the orders also bears a resemblance to the style of ChatGPT, further fueling suspicions about AI involvement.

The use of executive orders allows the president to direct the federal government without needing Congressional approval. With a total of 220 executive orders signed during his previous term, Trump has demonstrated a willingness to utilize this power. His new administration is expected to implement dozens more orders in the coming days, raising concerns about the potential role of artificial intelligence in shaping these policies.
