Troy Deeney Urges Isak to Disrupt Newcastle Training Amidst Transfer Standoff

Alexander Isak remains at odds with Newcastle

The air around Alexander Isak and Newcastle is thick with tension. Their standoff seems endless, creating a true tug-of-war. Football figures are not shy about weighing in, some siding with the talented forward, others defending the club. The latest voice to join this growing chorus offers a truly startling suggestion.

Former striker Troy Deeney recently stepped forward, showing clear solidarity with the Swedish star. However, his advice came with a catch. Deeney’s proposal is so bold it could easily make the already difficult situation much worse. He shared a personal story to make his point.

Deeney explained a private conversation he once had with his own agent. “My agent once told me directly: ‘You’re going to have to cause trouble,'” Deeney recalled. “He told me to return to training and run as if everything was normal. But the moment the balls came out, I had to ruin the sessions. Kick the ball far away, every single time.” The agent’s most crucial instruction was to tell absolutely no one what was happening behind the scenes.

Deeney admitted it was incredibly tough. He would go home feeling guilty. “Being like that in training without any clear reason, and upsetting people you like, isn’t good,” he reflected. Yet, he believes Isak needs to remember this is for his own good. Deeney emphasized that a move away from Newcastle “would be a transfer that would change his career,” specifically mentioning Liverpool’s reported interest in Isak.

Meanwhile, on the club’s side, Newcastle coach Eddie Howe has recently made his feelings clear. He admitted he was fed up with all the controversy surrounding Isak. Howe firmly stated that he would like to have the forward back and available. Last season, Isak proved his immense value, shining brightly with 27 goals and six assists across 42 matches. His contributions were undeniable.
