What’s Happening with Ranveer Singh?
As Bollywood gears up for a comeback in 2025, several big names are set to make a splash on the big screen. However, one popular star seems to be missing from the limelight – Ranveer Singh. Despite his immense popularity and powerful performances, Ranveer has been embroiled in controversy and has seen a string of flops in recent years.
A Change in Fortune
Before the lockdown, Ranveer was on a roll with back-to-back hits like ‘Padmavat’, ‘Simmba’, and ‘Gully Boy’. These films not only did well at the box office but also earned him critical acclaim. However, after the lockdown, his fortunes changed. His special appearance in ‘Suryavanshi’ was well-received, but his lead role in ’83’ failed to impress. Although the film gained traction on OTT and TV, Ranveer’s subsequent films, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and ‘Circus’, also tanked.
Stuck Projects
Ranveer had several high-profile projects in the pipeline, but they have been stuck due to various reasons. Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ was put on hold, and the film based on Indian superhero Shaktiman also faced trouble. Mukesh Khanna, the original ‘Shaktimaan’, has been critical of Ranveer’s involvement in the project. Additionally, the director of the South film ‘Hanuman’ announced a film with Ranveer, but it has not progressed. Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’, which was announced over a year ago, has also not gone on floors yet.

However, there is some good news for Ranveer fans. Director Aditya Dhar, who made ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, has started working on a film with Ranveer. The film, currently titled ‘Dhurandhar’, is based on a real mission of RAW and stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, and R Madhavan alongside Ranveer. Although the release date has not been announced, this film could be the turning point Ranveer needs to revive his career.
