Travel Influencer Chase Filandro Dies at 20; Memorial Funds Raised

Sad news has touched many in the online community. Chase Filandro, a beloved influencer, passed away at just 20 years old.

His sister, Franki Ford, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Monday, August 5. She wrote about her brother’s vibrant spirit. “My brother, Chase Filandro, was a bright light,” she shared. “He had an incredible enthusiasm for life.” Franki added that Chase was loved deeply by many. He always welcomed everyone he met with an open heart. Chase loved to travel and felt great joy from the beauty of national parks. “He always greeted strangers with a smile,” she wrote. “He made friends on every trail he walked.”

To honor his life, and keep his memory alive forever, Franki invited people to contribute to a memorial. It will be located in or near one of Chase’s favorite parks. “Once it’s set up, we’ll share details,” she promised. “You can visit and enjoy what Chase loved most. You’ll know he’s right there beside you. ❤️”

Franki’s message came with a touching photo of Chase. He was beaming in front of Mount Rushmore, hands on his hips. Dressed in jeans and a blue and white flannel shirt, he looked full of life.

Franki also shared an update on the GoFundMe page set up for the memorial. She thanked Chase’s loved ones for their huge support after his passing. The message read: “Update: We are overwhelmed by the support for Chase’s memorial.” It continued, “Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal in just 13 hours. Chase clearly made a big impact on many.” The family is now raising more funds. This will support another memorial in New York, closer to home. “Thank you all again,” the message concluded.
