A man and a woman, both 41 years old, died on Sunday in a tragic accident on Route 12, near Tala, in Canelones, at kilometer 93. The incident occurred around 7:00 in the morning and initially left the woman in serious condition. She was transferred to a medical facility but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at 10:25.
The accident involved a truck that lost control and overturned, falling into a stream. Both the man and the woman were companions who were riding at the back of the truck and became trapped in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old, was found to have no blood alcohol in their system and sustained only minor injuries. Another occupant, a 32-year-old man who was sitting next to the driver, also suffered minor injuries.
