A 24-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a motorbike and a truck in Lavalleja. The two victims were traveling on Route 14 when their motorbike collided with the truck, which was being driven by a 60-year-old man.
The driver of the truck reported that he was performing tasks on the route and was driving in reverse when the collision occurred. He claimed that, despite checking his mirrors, he did not see the approaching motorbike.
The 24-year-old motorcyclist and her daughter were rushed to the José Pedro Varela hospital, where unfortunately, they were pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident.
Emergency responders, including scientific police and firefighters, worked together to retrieve the bodies from underneath the truck.
The Caminera police confirmed that the driver’s alcohol test yielded a negative result. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Second Turn of Lavalleja is currently investigating the accident to determine the responsibilities and causes behind the tragic event.
