The NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, has appointed Trae Young, the base-scorer of the Atlanta Hawks, as a substitute for the injured Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks in the Chuck team for the NBA All Star 2025. This will be Young’s fourth participation in the All Star, and he is currently averaging 23.5 points and 11.4 assists per game in 49 games this season, leading the league in assists.
Antetokounmpo is unable to participate in the All Star due to a distension in the left calf. He was selected for the Chuck team by its general manager, Charles Barkley, a former player and TNT analyst. The 74th All Star will take place on Sunday, February 16 at the San Francisco Chase Center, featuring a new format with four teams and three games.
